Equal Opportunity Cell
The college has established the Equality Opportunity Cell to address issues of gender equality and gender-related discrimination among students. The cell headed by the Principal, heads of all the department, other staff and student members chalk out action plans to ensure the functionalities of an inclusive educational atmosphere in the campus. The basic aim of the Equal Opportunity Cell is to ensure that students and faculty belonging to various diverse backgrounds of community, religion, region, gender or ability are not deprived of their basic opportunities.
Mission Statement
The Equal Opportunity Cell at C.B. Bhandari Jain College is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment, ensuring equal opportunities for all members of the college community. Our mission is to eliminate discrimination, promote diversity, and create a campus culture that values and respects every individual.
Objectives:
1. Inclusive Practices:
- Develop and implement educational programs to raise awareness about human rights principles among students, faculty, and staff.
- Foster a culture of respect for human rights through workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns.
2. Accessibility:
- Ensure physical and digital accessibility across the campus for individuals with diverse abilities.
- Provide support and accommodations to make education and campus activities accessible to everyone.
3. Anti-Discrimination Initiatives:
- Develop and implement programs to raise awareness about discrimination, bias, and stereotypes.
- Establish mechanisms to address and resolve incidents of discrimination promptly.
4. Affirmative Action Programs:
- Work towards increasing the representation of underrepresented groups in academic and administrative roles.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to implement affirmative action policies and programs.
5. Support Services:
- Provide counseling and support services to individuals who may face discrimination or feel marginalized.
- Collaborate with mental health professionals and support organizations to address the unique challenges faced by different communities.
6. Reporting Discrimination:
- Any member of the college community who experiences or witnesses discrimination is encouraged to report the incident promptly. Reports can be made through [Specify Reporting Channels], and all reports will be treated with confidentiality and sensitivity.
Resources:
- Include a list of resources, both within and outside the college that can provide support to individuals facing discrimination. This may include counseling services, legal assistance, and community organizations.
