Human Rights Protection Cell
Human rights are the basic rights and freedom that belong to every person in the world from birth till death. These basic rights are based on values like dignity, equality, respect and independence. These values are defined and protected by law. C.B.Bhandari Jain College, has constituted the human rights protection cell according to UGC norms and encourages students to observe human rights as the basic rights. It coordinates with organizations and individuals to enhance the policy of human rights a work towards social, economic & Cultural up-liftment of human being through various programs.
Mission Statement
The Human Rights Protection Cell at C.B. Bhandari Jain College is dedicated to upholding, promoting, and protecting the fundamental human rights of all individuals within the college community. Our mission is to create an inclusive, respectful, and just environment by preventing human rights violations and addressing incidents promptly and effectively.
Objectives:
1. Promotion of Human Rights Education:
- Develop and implement educational programs to raise awareness about human rights principles among students, faculty, and staff.
- Foster a culture of respect for human rights through workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns.
2. Prevention of Human Rights Violations:
- Establish proactive measures to prevent human rights violations within the college community.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to create policies and initiatives that align with international human rights standards.
3. Investigation and Resolution:
- Provide a confidential platform for reporting human rights violations or concerns
- Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into reported incidents and take appropriate actions to address and resolve issues.
4. Advocacy and Support:
- Advocate for the rights of vulnerable and marginalized groups within the college.
- Provide support services to individuals who may have experienced human rights violations, including counseling and referrals to appropriate resources.
5. Collaboration with External Organizations:
- Collaborate with external human rights organizations, NGOs, and legal entities to stay informed about best practices and legal frameworks
- Participate in community outreach programs to promote human rights awareness beyond the college campus.
6. Reporting Human Rights Violations:
- Any member of the college community who believes they have witnessed or experienced a human rights violation is encouraged to report the incident promptly. Reports can be made through [Specify Reporting Channels], and all reports will be treated with confidentiality and sensitivity
7. Annual Reports:
- Publish annual reports summarizing the activities, cases handled, and outcomes of the Human Rights Protection Cell to ensure transparency and accountability.
